Let Him Eat Cake...
Contrary to popular beliefs, the wedding is about the Groom as well. What better way to incorporate his style than with a cake. Grooms cakes with a creative flair are becoming more popular, and add a unique touch to your reception. The only (and most important) rule would be to make sure the design of your cake is done with class. Insulting and obscene cakes are a definite no no. Other than that the possibilities are endless. Center your cake around the Grooms interests for example: his favorite sports team, his college, personal hobbies, as well as places he has traveled. The grooms cake is normally made in a flavor different from the wedding cake. Traditionally the grooms cake was a chocolate cake, but today it is being made in a variety of flavors. In the early days the wedding cakes were iced fruit cakes. As weddings progressed and it moved towards the stacked pound cakes, guest still wanted the fruit cake as well, thus became the grooms cake. The grooms cake was usually boxed up for the guests to take home. Legend has it that an unmarried woman who placed her slice of grooms cake under her pillow would dream of her husband to be. What better reason to have a grooms cake!
