Centerpieces: To be or not to be?
Choices are endless when choosing a centerpiece. Below are some guidelines to help you in making the best decision...
1. Don't: choose a centerpiece that obstructs conversation. Opt for centerpieces that are either lower or higher than face to face conversation level.
2. Do: Use your bouquets as decor in your reception. You will not be holding them during the reception, so why not reuse them. There are many places your bouquets can add additional decor.
3. Don't: Use scented candles. The smell of several scented candles could overwhelm your guest.
4. Don't: Fill a large bowl with water then add one very small floating candle. If you are in love with floating candles, please choose one with a size that compliments your container. If you are using a large container opt for more than one candle, then accent the centerpiece with rose petals, blooms, and votive candles etc.
5. Do: Be creative and show your flair.
6. Don't: Go overboard with the marbles. We are not saying you can't use them, but proceed with caution. (Have your sponsor available to make sure you step away from the marbles when you have exceeded your limit.)
7. Do: Consider all the consequences when using live fish in centerpieces (and that's all I have to say about that).
When in doubt ask a professional. Your wedding consultant and/or florist can assist you in choosing the appropriate centerpiece.
