RSVP…What Does That Mean?
Today’s blog topic was inspired by my brother whom asked me a good question: What does RSVP stand for? RSVP is an abbreviation for the French term répondez s'il vous plait. The English translations:

o please respond
o answer please
o please respond
o reply, if you please
Let’s dig a little deeper into to topic… Being in the wedding industry I notice that the RSVP request is often procrastinated or simply ignored. Unless the invitation states regrets only, you need to reply whether you will or will not attend. The event host/hostess must have this information in order to properly prepare for the event, as they need to know how much food and drink to purchase. Most importantly it is a simple courtesy of responding to someone whom was thoughtful enough to invite you, even if it is to say that you regret that you will not be able to attend.
